Pastor Martin Carl Jarvis mcjarvissr@yahoo.com THE MONEY |
LIBERTY
WORSHIP CENTER

| "The church as a business.... a career move, has caused many outside the church to view the paid pastor with a weary eye." |
Donated money must be applied to the building payment, church things, and utilities. Secondly, to the needy in the community.... primarily the spiritually needy. At the same time the church must be aware of and in relationship with the organizations in the community that tend to the physical needs of the poor, to avoid wasting church donated money, by providing a service or handout that a community organization might offer. The church should have a kitchen and dining area to satisfy emergency needs.
Money spent on creative ideas to reach young people in the community is also necessary (i.e.., "scouting type" Christian based programs offering sports/ Bible study/ music), which give an alternative to the lifestyles that young people face in "the world". Many churches spend a lot of money and effort trying to create a palatable image to the world. The clothes, the music, the jargon. What happens too often, the ministry gets assimilated into the world, rather than the world getting assimilated into the ministry. Many ministry leaders have digressed into alcohol, drug use, and sexual immorality.... And, in effect are encouragers to the bondages of destructive lifestyles they were commissioned to heal.
Money should
be spent to keep the ministry both clean and modern, spiritually, physically
and morally. It should not be used to imitate the world, in an effort
to attract the world. It's just not honest. And,
dishonesty is an attribute of the world.... and dishonesty often is the
first step of a ministry stumbling into the very quagmires they were sent
to rescue others from.
Amen.![]()
